IN THIS POSITION, YOU WILL:

  • Collaborate with all team members in a way that builds upon ideas and takes personal accountability and ownership of projects, role, and assignments.
  • Lead and train new employees and coordinate cross-training opportunities, coach and mentor staff to meet goals and maintain motivation.
  • Function as a team leader, provide direct supervision to the assigned division workers, trades workers, and other support staff. This involves making work assignments to individuals assigned to the crew to ensure work is completed in a timely fashion, ensuring proper quantity and quality.
  • Inspect completed assignments of all crew members and helpers to ensure quality control, ensuring proper safety procedures are being used while performing job duties.
  • Schedule daily work assignments and reprioritize assignments as needed to ensure timely completion of work.
  • Work independently to provide technical installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair work for park facilities and their associated amenities as it relates to electrical, plumbing or construction services as per code.
  • Perform compliance inspections, testing and repairs of playground equipment, athletic equipment and general grounds; designs, fabricates, and installs welding for various structures and equipment.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required with a minimum of five (5) years of any equivalent combination of maintenance, landscaping or construction education, training, and experience provides the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities for this job. Along with two (2) years of lead or supervisory experience.
  • Must obtain within six (6) months of employment an Irrigation Technician Certification (CIT); Playground safety Inspector Certification (CPSI); Pool Operator Certification (CPO) or Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO) Certification; and Pesticide Applicator License (AZ).
  • The successful candidate must have a valid driver’s license and ability to pass a pre-employment background screening including driving record and drug screening.
  • Must have the ability to work a flexible schedule to support on-call and community events.


COMPENSATION:

The Town’s complete compensation package includes salary, benefits, and a high-performance culture. The Town package includes a health, dental, and vision insurance plan, participation in the state retirement system, optional 457 deferred compensation with a town match up to 6%, vacation, holidays, and additional comprehensive benefits.

The expected hiring range is $34.88 - $36.62

The full hourly range is $34.88—$48.84.
