Overview

We are seeking aParamedic,sometimesreferred to as ourEmergency Care Technician (ECT), Emergency Department Technician (ED Tech)orEmergencyRoomTechnician(ER Tech).AParamedicwho willassistwith tasks like starting IVs, performing EKGs,monitoringvital signs, and supporting airway management.The Paramedicplaya key role in trauma care, CPR, and patient transport, working closely with nurses and physicians during emergencies.The Paramedic willuse many of their field skills,who willalways perform under hospital protocols and supervision.This position is on a per diem basis,PD/PRN,meaningas needed.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):

  • Perform clinical procedures including IV insertion, EKG acquisition, and continuous vital signsmonitoringunder supervision
  • Assistwith airway management, oxygen therapy, suctioning, and support during advanced airway procedures and resuscitation efforts
  • Provide wound care, apply splints,assistwith suturing, and respond as part of the team during medical emergencies
  • Support patient flow by transporting patients to diagnostic areas or inpatient units andassistingwith room turnover and preparation
  • Maintain clinical readiness by stocking essential supplies and performing point-of-care testing aspermittedbyourhospital policy
  • Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and EMS personnel to support trauma care, high-acuity patient management, andassistwith clinical procedures and transitions of care

Qualifications

Education and Work Experi

1. Current and valid paramedic license issued by the State of Kansas.

2. Current BCLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.

3. ACLS 30 days upon hire and maintain current.

4. PALS and/or ENPC required 30 days upon hire and maintain current.

5. Minimum of one year as a paramedic in an EMS or acute care hospital preferred.

Facility Specific Requirements (facility may require items listed below):

1. Non OB facilities: NRP 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
