The Paralegal is responsible for preparation of legal documents as well as responsible for legal filings with municipal Courts in multiple jurisdictions. This position also facilitates communication between the Director of Operations and Director of Investments (which the legal team reports to) as well as internal and external people of interest regarding a wide variety of legal matters.

PARALEGAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Responsible for the preparation and/or filings of title reports, deeds, tax certificates, foreclosure complaints, quiet titles etc.
• Responsible for the preparation, revision and completion of foreclosure documents and filing within multiple jurisdictions
• Oversight of multi-state case progression including quiet title cases and pre-deed preparation;
• Assists with real estate closings and liquidation of properties upon request
• Case Management and timely progression for all eviction actions, partition actions and quiet title actions
• Assist operations in modifying or streamlining any systems under their accountability upon request
• Research and identify opportunities for new lien acquisition through expansion of existing markets or entrance into new markets as directed by Director
• Prepares and researches legal descriptions of land
• Reviews and prepares deeds, mortgages, and releases for attorney reviews
• Monitors bankruptcy cases in association with properties owned by company
• Monitors financial transactions and closings
• Process invoices as needed
• Assist with tax sales as needed
• Reviews entity maintenance and files accordingly
• Other duties as assigned
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's Degree, associate degree, or Certificate in field of study required
• Minimum of two years of experience in a Paralegal role, real estate experience/background a plus
• Highly organized and able to track a case from initial contact through closing
• Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy and time management skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required
• Approaches challenges as opportunities with a positive, “can-do” attitude
• Able to process work quickly and accurately - dealing with interruptions, changing timelines and priorities on a regular basis
• Self-motivated, high inclusive individual that functions well in a fast-paced, high detail environment
• Willing to embrace technology to promote efficient operations
• Comfortable using software programs to process data and interpret results through critical thinking skills
• Strong command of Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, SharePoint and Word programs as well as ability to learn and effectively operate computer and associated software programs – including but not limited to NetSuite, TrackVia
