Established Houston Firm is Seeking an Estate and Probate Paralegal


Duties Include:

  • Drafting and preparing estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and advance directives
  • Assisting in preparation and filing of probate documents and court filings
  • Coordinating signing meetings, notary services, and document execution
  • Reviewing and analyzing financial documents, beneficiary designations, and asset information
  • Tracking deadlines and managing calendars related to court filings, trust funding, and other case milestones
  • Supporting attorneys with research, correspondence, and preparation of IRS and state tax forms related to estates and trusts (e.g., Form 706, Form 709, etc.)
  • Keep track of billable times daily and the annual goal is 1500 billable hours for paralegals
  • Perform other administrative and legal support tasks as needed


Mandatory Requirements – Firm will only consider if you meet ALL the below:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a paralegal, with at least 3 years in estate planning and/or probate.
  • Must have worked at a private law firm
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree; paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), document management systems (iManage a plus), and legal billing software
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently
  • High degree of discretion and confidentiality in handling sensitive client information
  • Experience with legal software such as Westlaw, GEMS, or Interactive Legal Suite


POSITION IS IN OFFICE Monday through Friday – no hybrid (sorry!)
