About the Role

A leading defense firm is seeking an experienced Casualty & Mass Tort Litigation Paralegal to join its downtown Houston office. This role supports a busy team handling complex personal injury defense and mass tort matters. The ideal candidates bring strong litigation support skills, excellent organizational ability, and a proven track record of success in defense‑side practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist attorneys with all phases of litigation, including discovery, case management, deposition preparation, and trial preparation
• Draft, organize, and manage legal documents, pleadings, subpoenas, and medical records
• Coordinate with clients, experts, witnesses, and vendors
• Manage case calendars, deadlines, and litigation timelines
• Conduct research and gather case materials as needed
• Maintain case files, trial binders, and document databases
• Support attorneys in hearings, trial preparation, and other case‑related tasks

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as a litigation paralegal in defense-focused practices (Personal Injury Defense, Insurance Defense, Mass Tort, Product Liability, etc.)
• Bachelor’s degree, Associate’s degree, and/or Paralegal Certificate required
• Strong tenure and stable work history preferred
• Proficiency in case management software, document management systems, and Microsoft Office
• Excellent writing, communication, and time‑management skills
• Ability to work efficiently and professionally in a fast-paced environment
