Position Summary:

The Paralegal provides legal and administrative support to the company’s Legal department and the Vice President and General Counsel


Key Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

Includes the following: Other duties may be assigned.

  • Contracts
  • Review Owner Contracts
  • Subcontracts, Purchase Orders, and other standard forms
  • Bonds and Insurance
  • Negotiate/Review third party agreements, as assigned
  • Bidding/Proposals
  • Litigation
  • Licensing and Registration
  • Corporate Issues:
  • Training
  • Professional/Trade Organizations
  • Legal Department Administration
  • Affiliate Support
  • Risk Mitigation and Compliance Support

Other:

  • Background and due diligence research of Owner, Subcontractors, and others as needed
  • Database programming changes
  • Legal history database input
  • Procedures/forms
  • Organizing prior corporate books
  • Lessons Learned
  • Legislative Overview
  • Updates and maintains a procedure manual


Education, Experience, and Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required, but are not requirements if similar experience, skills and abilities exist.   • 5+ years of experience in a law firm, or as assistant to in-house counsel, preparing documents and researching legal issues;
  • Proven skills in full MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access);
  • Experience performing research and preparing documents and other written communication;
  • Proficiency with legal terminology;
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills;
  • Well organized;
  • Ability to multitask, and track and achieve oft-changing tasks, initiatives, and priorities;
  • Ability to coordinate among numerous stakeholders;
  • Champion initiatives to prompt and successful conclusion.
