The Firm of Cockrel Ela Glesne Greher & Ruhland (CEGR Law) is seeking a paralegal with 2-5 years relevant legal experience. Prior experience with special districts, municipal law, or land use is strongly preferred and may command higher starting compensation within the range.

A paralegal role, once fully trained, is face paced and requires paralegal to multi-task while paying attention to detail on every project. A CEGR Law paralegal is responsible for tasks, including, but not limited to:

  • Preparing and managing board meeting materials and packets
  • Attending board meetings with attorneys
  • Preparing for and overseeing elections
  • Supporting special district governance and compliance processes
  • Drafting and reviewing contracts, resolutions, and other legal documents
  • Interfacing directly with clients, consultants, and attorneys


Qualifications/Skills/Experience:

  • Overall Skills: Highly self-motivated, organized and detail-oriented.
  • Professional Writing Skills: Able to draft professional documents consistently that are free of grammar and spelling errors.
  • Excellent People and Communication Skills: Ability to interact professionally with people from a broad range of backgrounds, within and outside CEGR Law.
  • Competent Computer Skills: Able to learn billing, document management and other software programs quickly and accurately in order to record billable time, draft/edit/send documents and interface with clients/team members. Experience with programs such as Microsoft products, TABS and iManage is preferred.
  • Strong Critical Thinking Skills: Able to problem solve, follow instructions, be creative, use discretion and good judgment, and ask questions when necessary.
  • Team Member: Desire to work closely with team members and clients to answer questions, embrace versatility and resolve conflict as a productive team member within CEGR Law.


Education/Certification Requirement:

Undergraduate degree and/or paralegal certificate required.


Billable Expectation:

Typically 1300+ annual billable hours

Compensation:

Salary Range: $70,000 to $90,000 based on 2-5 years. Starting salary will be based on experience. Annual review with annual salary adjustment for all team members in good standing.
