Job Summary

Position Summary
Christ the King School is seeking a compassionate, dependable Para‑Professional to support students in accessing the curriculum and developing greater independence. This position works under the direction of the Learning Consultant and classroom teacher to implement accommodations, encourage self‑regulation and social growth, and ensure student safety across school environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement classroom accommodations and instructional strategies as directed
  • Provide direct academic and behavioral support to assigned student(s)
  • Promote independence, self‑regulation, and positive social interaction
  • Maintain supervision and ensure student safety in all school settings
  • Assist with personal care needs as required
  • Collaborate with teachers, the Learning Consultant, parents, and service providers
  • Maintain confidentiality and accurate documentation
  • Participate in professional development and meet all Archdiocesan requirements

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 60 college credit hours required; degree in Special Education or related field preferred
  • Experience working with children in an educational setting preferred
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Commitment to the mission and values of Christ the King School
  • Ability to remain calm, responsive, and effective in emergency situations

Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and move throughout the school day; occasionally lift up to 50 pounds; and respond effectively in crisis situations. Regular and reliable attendance is required.
