Interacts with surgeons to clarify orders as needed. Interviews and hires new staff. Facilitates the education of staff and evaluates their competency. Orks with Materials Management to monitor supply usage and manage costs appropriately. The manager has a 24-hour, 7 days a week responsibility to provide leadership, management, administration and supervision for the unit and staff. This includes planning, organizing, staff development, performance management, quality fiscal and information management, regulatory compliance, daily operations, building and enhancing relationships through customer relations and appropriate professional involvement. The manager will work closely with directors, ancillary staff, managers, medical directors, medical department chairs, physicians and other disciplines to develop services and ensure quality.Required Education:
Bachelor of Science in NursingPreferred Education:
Previous Meditech experienceRequired Skills:
Basic computer keyboard skills, fax machine, scannerPreferred Skills:
Microsoft Office, MeditechRequired Licensure/Registration/Certification:
Texas license as a Registered Nurse, Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiopulmonary Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Certified Perianesthesia Nurse (CPAN) or other related nationally recognized certification (approval required bye Director) within two yearsRequired Experience:
Two years as a charge nurse in an acute care surgical department.Preferred Experience:Previous management experience in a hospital or ASC with knowledge of, Pre Op/PACU, Endoscopy and OR.IND123
