Position Summary

The Outside Sales Representative is responsible for driving revenue growth through active field sales, focusing on American Block’s Flow Line product line. This role requires strong technical knowledge and prior experience with flow iron products, including hammer unions, 1502 iron, and API 6A flanged iron. The ideal candidate will bring existing industry relationships and the ability to quickly identify and close opportunities within oilfield service, drilling, and well service markets.

American Block is a Houston-based manufacturer and supplier of oilfield equipment, offering a full range of flow line products including hammer unions, swivel joints, plug valves, manifolds, and integral fittings used in high-pressure oilfield applications.

Their flow line products are manufactured from high-grade forged steel, designed to meet API standards, and built for durability in demanding field conditions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop new business and expand existing accounts within assigned territory
  • Conduct regular in-person visits to customer locations, job sites, and yards
  • Promote and sell Flow Line products, including:
  • Hammer unions (including 1502 iron)
  • API 6A flanged iron
  • Integral fittings, pup joints, valves, and manifolds
  • Identify customer needs and recommend appropriate flow iron solutions
  • Prepare quotes, bids, and technical proposals
  • Negotiate pricing and close sales opportunities
  • Maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers (purchasing, operations, field supervisors)
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure accurate order fulfillment and delivery
  • Track sales activity and pipeline using CRM systems
  • Monitor market activity, drilling trends, and competitor products

Required Experience

Candidates must have direct experience with flow line / flow iron products, specifically:

  • Hammer unions (including 1502 iron)
  • API 6A flanged iron
  • High-pressure flowline equipment

Experience must come from one or more of the following:

  • Oilfield equipment manufacturer or direct competitor
  • Oilfield supply/distribution company
  • Well service company
  • Flowback company

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree preferred)
  • 2+ years of outside sales experience in oil & gas or industrial sectors
  • Proven ability to generate new business and close deals
  • Strong technical understanding of flowline equipment and applications
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
  • Self-motivated with a strong “hunter” sales mentality
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel frequently

Preferred Skills

  • Established network within oilfield service or drilling companies
  • Experience selling high-pressure iron (frac iron, flow iron, or well service equipment)
  • Familiarity with API standards (API 6A, 16C)
  • CRM experience (Salesforce or similar)
