About the Role
The primary purpose of the Outpatient Coder I position is to perform medical record review of clinic visits, radiology reports, laboratory requisitions, and/or other diagnostic testing/reports as assigned. The coder will identify the appropriate E/M visit charge for clinics only and assign ICD-10 diagnosis code(s) and CPT procedure code(s) when appropriate to the encounter.

The expected hourly range for this position is $31.29- $32.75 per hour, in accordance with the New Jersey Pay Transparency Law; final compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.

What You’ll Do - Review outpatient medical records, including clinic visit documentation, radiology reports, laboratory requisitions, and other assigned diagnostic reports. - Analyze clinical documentation to support accurate coding and billing. - Determine and assign the appropriate Evaluation and Management (E/M) charges for clinic encounters only. - Assign correct ICD-10 diagnosis codes based on documented conditions. - Assign applicable CPT procedure codes when supported by the encounter documentation.
