Information Cyber Security’s (ICS) vision is to provide Wells Fargo world leading cyber security risk management. Through a framework that addresses policy, process, operations, people, and technology, ICS protects Wells Fargo’s infrastructure, corporate data, and customer assets, and ensures alignment with applicable regulations and laws. ICS is part of Wells Fargo's Technology organization and is led by the Chief Information Security Officer.
- The person selected for this position will be part of the Cyber Threat Engineering Team (CTE) as part of the Cyber Threat Management (CTM) organization within Information Security (IS) as an Information Security Manager (ISM).
- This position will manage a technical team that evaluates security controls and their effectiveness.
- The team will support a threat registry assessment and modeling initiative that will enhance CTM’s threat intelligence and assessment capabilities by delivering structured and normalized data describing attack vectors and compensating controls to enable automated threat modeling and assessment as well as attack simulation data elements to further improve defensive capabilities.
- Works with and influences information security and technology leaders, along with line of business management to identify, formulate, and implement information security solutions and controls that manage threats and mitigates risk.
- Manages a team responsible for complex and innovative solutions addressing functions including: infrastructure management, continuous breach and attack simulation platform, security control effectiveness testing to include network and endpoints to ensure the security of the networks, computers, and confidential data.
- Maintains an advanced awareness of bank security policies and government regulations pertaining to information security and participates in recommending changes to information security policy, standards and procedures as needed for systems/applications/tools.
- Exercises the usual authority of a manager including budgeting and staff management. ISM will perform peer reviews, manage resources, expenses, and help translate the requirements into work needed to be done by Cyber Threat Engineering.
- Ideal candidate will use knowledge of engineering and cyber security to evaluate the security posture of emerging technologies being considered for wide scale deployment at the bank.
- This position will manage the strategy, direction, and resources for the Emerging Technology Review pipeline within the Offensive Security Research Team.
- Selected candidate will represent the OSRT on status and planning calls as well as in leadership forums.
- They will need to possess the knowledge and communication skills to describe complex interwoven issues to the line of business partners.
Responsibilities include:
- Lead efforts to evaluate emerging technologies being considered for deployment across the bank
- Consult and plan with leadership to assess and prioritize new projects and develop strategies to execute new initiatives
- Manage and maintain workflow and set priorities for direct reports
- Build and maintain partnerships with Emerging Technology Team and Line of Business Partners
- The position will interact and negotiate with middle and/or senior management on a regular basis; create and implement communication plans including presentations on program goals and plans, including progress reports; and may be called upon to manage other projects and initiatives as needed.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of technology experience
- 3+ years of experience with strategic planning in a technology environment
- 2+ years of experience with leadership in an enterprise technology environment
- 4+ years of experience in one or combination of the following: leading cross functional teams, enterprise-wide projects, or directly managing people
Desired Qualifications
- Experience managing large technology development efforts within a major line of business
- Ability to influence across all organizational levels, particularly senior management
- Experience with automation, regression, and performance testing
- Experience with security technology product evaluation, proof of concepts and testing
Other Desired Qualifications - Knowledge of the MITRE ATT&CK Framework, and TTPs
- Experience with Agile projects using Scrum and Kanban
