Overview
LMI is seeking a talented Organization Development Specialist professional to support the National Aeronautics and Space Administration in Washington, DC. The Organization Development Specialist will work collaboratively with leadership, HR Business Partners (HRBPs), and Executive Services Business Partners (ESBPs) to assess, design, and implement strategies that enhance organizational effectiveness, facilitate change management, and build leadership capabilities. This is an exciting role that combines strategic analysis, coaching, assessment, and transformation guidance to drive meaningful organizational progress within one of the most innovative and mission-driven organizations in the world.

Responsibilities
Organizational Assessment & Effectiveness
- Conducting organizational assessments using validated diagnostic tools in collaboration with internal specialists and HRBPs.
- Developing organizational health indicators and measurement frameworks to assess organizational performance.
- Designing and facilitating analyses and strategies to address organizational issues.
- Implementing evidence-based team effectiveness interventions to improve communication, decision-making, and alignment of goals within teams and across organizational systems.
- Performing data collection, analysis, and reporting for organizational effectiveness initiatives.
Change Management & Transformation Guidance
- Providing strategic change management expertise to facilitate organizational transitions.
- Partnering with internal staff to co-lead transformation initiatives while fostering progressive ownership.
- Developing and implementing change readiness assessment tools, frameworks, and stakeholder engagement strategies.
- Advising leadership on crisis leadership and adaptive management, enabling successful navigation of complex and large-scale transformation initiatives.
Additional Responsibilities
- Facilitating strategic planning sessions to align organizational goals and objectives.
- Supporting leadership development and integration of training programs to strengthen individual and team competencies.
- Facilitating leader transitions, including support for new leaders or executives to enhance their transition and effectiveness within the organization.
- Collaborating on succession planning to develop tools and programs that prepare the next generation of NASA leaders.
- Engaging in organizational analysis, diagnosing current systems, and developing innovative design solutions aligned with the agency’s goals.
- Facilitating knowledge management initiatives to promote organizational learning and the utilization of resources effectively.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Graduate degree in a related field,orbachelor’s degree in organization management, management, or a closely related field with2–5 years of directly related experiencein organizational development.
- Expertise in human resources areas such asleadership development, performance management, and employee retentionis highly desired.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Strong knowledge of organizational development concepts and practices, includingorganizational health methodologies, systems theory, and approaches related tohuman systems and organizations.
- Proficiency in using assessments to evaluate individuals, teams, and organizations (e.g., tools such as iEQ9 Enneagram, DISC, Hogan Assessments, StrengthsFinder, and others).
- Demonstrated ability to assess needs, coach leaders, and design and implement systematic interventions to address organizational challenges.
- Skilled in advising, coaching, and facilitating leadership to drive strategic change aligned with organizational goals.
- Expertise in change management processes such as stakeholder engagement, implementation frameworks, and readiness assessments (certifications such asProject Management Institute-PMI,Prosci Change Management Certification, orACMPstandards preferred).
- Strong data analysis skills to evaluate survey results, organizational performance, and other metrics related to organizational effectiveness.
Preferred Competencies
- Hands-on experience with strategic planning facilitation, employee development, organizational knowledge retention, and team building.
- Ability to establish and maintain positive collaborations across diverse functional areas, project teams, and leaders.
- Experienced in working within Federal, Government, or mission-driven organizations is a plus.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, especially when compiling and delivering recommendations and briefings to senior leadership.
Target salary range: $95,000-$115,000
