Oracle Financials Support Manager
This role is a hands-on Oracle Financials production support leadership position. The position requires a combination of functional (70%) and technical (30%) expertise, along with a strong understanding of accounting principles and operational finance processes.
The individual will lead and manage onshore and offshore Oracle support resources while remaining deeply hands-on with configurations, troubleshooting, and solution design.
This position requires direct ownership of day-to-day production support, business requirements translation, configuration changes, and operational governance. Candidates must have significant experience supporting Oracle Financials within an internal corporate environment.
Essential Functions:
Production & Operational Support
- Lead daily production support for Oracle R12 Financials (General Ledger, Accounts Receivable, SLA, Web ADI, and OBIEE).
- Serve as primary escalation point for complex functional and technical issues.
- Oversee ticket intake, prioritization, tracking, and resolution to ensure timely delivery and high service quality.
- Partner directly with Accounting and Finance leadership to prioritize enhancements and manage expectations.
- Ensure structured documentation of configurations, support processes, and system changes.
Team Leadership & Resource Management
- Manage and coordinate onshore and offshore Oracle support resources.
- Allocate workload and ensure accountability for ticket resolution and enhancement delivery.
- Establish structured processes for support governance, release coordination, and change management.
- Provide mentorship and technical oversight to elevate team capability.
- Ensure cross-training and appropriate backup coverage across the team.
Hands-On Configuration & Functional Ownership
- Perform direct hands-on configuration and maintenance of Oracle R12 General Ledger and Accounts Receivable.
- Direct hands-on configuration and support:
- Multi-currency ledger structures
- Global consolidation and reporting currency
- Accounting Flexfields and value sets
- Cross-validation and security rules
- Subledger Accounting (SLA) and custom SLAM setups
- Tax regime and tax rules
- Web ADI templates
- Support period close processes, mass allocations, revaluations, journal processing, and multi-entity accounting.
- Provide forms personalization support and manage concurrent programs, menus, security, and alerts.
- Support financial data integrations to downstream systems.
- Perform impact analysis, testing coordination, and deployment of configuration changes.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Direct, hands-on configuration ownership of Oracle R12 General Ledger, Accounts Receivable, SLA, Tax, and Web ADI modules in a production environment
- Strong organizational and task management discipline, including structured tracking of tickets, enhancements, and team deliverables.
- Demonstrated ability to manage distributed teams (onshore/offshore model preferred).
- Functional proficiency, sound technical knowledge and excellent understanding of best practice business processes and system design.
- Technical and functional support, business systems analysis, solution design, and deployment of Oracle ERP applications.
- Use of SQL Tools to analyze information requested by business users, support custom interfaces and perform data migration
- Core competencies with Business Requirements Gathering and Definition, Gap Analysis, Mapping, Systems and Environment Set-up, Testing, End-user Training, Post Production Support.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executive, managers, and subject matter experts.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Computer Science preferred
- Preferred Oracle certified in R12 General Ledger and Accounts Receivable modules
Experience:
- 5+ years Oracle R12 Full life-cycle conversion, implementation and post-production support
- 3+ years Demonstrated experience balancing operational support leadership and hands-on configuration work
- Strong knowledge of PL/SQL and developer tools
- Strong knowledge in Microsoft Windows environment, including ability to use Microsoft Office desktop tools (Outlook, Excel, and Word).
Other Skills:
- Design and development of OBIEE 12c Repository (RPD), Analysis Reports, and Dashboards
- Fusion / Cloud Financials experience a plus
