Duties

• Lead and supervise the perioperative nursing team, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.
• Oversee daily OR scheduling, patient flow, and resource allocation to ensure smooth surgical operations.
• Ensure adherence to sterile techniques, infection control protocols, and safety standards across all surgical procedures.
• Coordinate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and support staff to facilitate seamless communication and optimal patient care.
• Monitor clinical performance metrics, implement quality improvement initiatives, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements such as HIPAA and QuadA standards.
• Manage medical documentation, including surgical records, and other essential medical records for accuracy and completeness.
• Provide ongoing staff training on EMR systems like Nextech and Surglogs, aseptic techniques, and advanced procedures such as catheterization or ventilator management.

Qualifications

• Valid nursing license with current registration; bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) or higher required.
• Extensive experience in operating room nursing or surgical services; prior nurse management or supervisory experience is essential.
• Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Nextech; strong understanding of medical terminology and physiology.
• Demonstrated expertise in critical care environments including Level I Trauma Centers or Level II trauma experience preferred.
• Knowledge of advanced surgical procedures
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage teams effectively while maintaining high standards of patient care.
