**Optical Systems Engineer – Pluggable Optics**

We’re working with a well-funded startup in the Bay Area developing next-generation high-speed optical connectivity solutions. They’re looking for an Optical Systems Engineer to help define and build advanced coherent pluggable technologies.

Job Responsibilities:

• Design and develop system architectures for high-speed optical pluggables
• Define link budgets, system requirements, and performance trade-offs
• Collaborate across DSP, hardware, and photonics teams
• Analyze and optimize end-to-end system performance
• Support lab validation, testing, and system bring-up

Job Requirements:

• Experience with high-speed pluggable modules
• Strong understanding of optical communication systems and link behavior
• Solid grasp of how DSP interacts with optical front-end components and system constraints
• Experience developing or working with DSP algorithms in communications systems
• Ability to operate at a system level, bridging theory and practical implementation
