About the Position
BreKo is seeking a highly motivated Operations Specialist to help with the build-out and scaling of core business functions across claims administration, underwriting and sales enablement. This role is critical to strengthening BreKo’s operational foundation as we expand, refine product offerings, and deliver world-class service to self-storage operators and tenants. You will work cross-functionally with several functions and affiliate companies to optimize processes, drive efficiency, increase sales, and improve operational performance across the business.
Responsibilities
Claims Management & Optimization
- Serve as the point person for self-storage operators and their tenants to ensure the claims process is timely, transparent, and efficient.
- Track and analyze claims trends to identify opportunities for loss prevention, operational improvements, or training needs.
- Maintain and scale claims processes, procedures and reporting standards.
Underwriting & New Site Evaluation
- Collect, verify, and analyze data required for underwriting potential new BreKo tenant protection customers (facility details, risk exposure, geographic considerations, operator track record).
- Assess site-level risk factors and communicate underwriting conditions, exceptions, or additional documentation required.
- Partner with Customer Success team to ensure that new sites are launched with correct coverage tiers, pricing, and compliance-related documentation.
- Ensure BreKo’s offerings align with industry regulations and internal compliance standards where applicable.
- Coordinate with internal and external advisors to maintain up-to-date underwriting standards.
Operations & Process Design
- Maintain and scale operational processes to support growth across underwriting, onboarding, billing and sales support.
- Standardize workflows, documentation, and reporting to ensure consistency and quality as the business scales.
- Monitor operational KPIs and dashboards and identify improvement opportunities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement new reporting dashboards, and automation that improves data accuracy and operational efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with industry guidelines, program rules, and state-specific regulatory requirements for tenant protection products.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in sales operations, underwriting support, insurance operations, claims management, risk management, or a related field.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; comfortable interpreting data and identifying trends.
- Excellent project management abilities with strong attention to detail.
- Proficient with CRM and claims management systems and Excel/Sheets.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of supporting cross-functional teams internally as well as speaking with self-storage operators/tenants.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
- Ability to lead cross-functional projects and manage competing priorities.
Preferred
- Experience in insurance, tenant protection products, financial services, or related risk assessment field.
- Familiarity with SaaS operational platforms, CRM systems, and analytics tools.
- Prior experience working with sales enablement or claims administration teams.
