Operations Manager – Industrial Mechanical Construction (Process Piping) – O&G, Chemical, Mining & Industrial Manufacturing – Pascagoula, Mississippi
Gryphon Oakwood is currently partnered with a leading Industrial Mechanical Contractor seeking an experienced Operations Manager to be based in Pascagoula, Mississippi. This role will provide operational leadership across a portfolio of capital projects, maintenance programs, and turnaround activities within the Oil & Gas, Chemical, Mining, and Industrial Manufacturing sectors.
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing project execution, operational performance, workforce management, client relationships, and business growth initiatives. The ideal individual will possess a strong background in industrial mechanical construction, with extensive experience managing process piping, equipment installation, and multidisciplinary construction projects in heavy industrial environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee day-to-day operations across multiple industrial construction projects.
- Drive safe, efficient, and profitable project execution from preconstruction through closeout.
- Manage project teams including Project Managers, Superintendents, and field personnel.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients.
- Support estimating, preconstruction, staffing, and resource planning efforts.
- Monitor project financial performance, schedules, productivity, and risk management initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with company standards, client requirements, and regulatory obligations.
- Identify opportunities for operational improvements and business growth across the region.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of industrial construction experience with progressive leadership responsibility.
- Proven experience managing capital projects within Oil & Gas, Chemical, Mining, Petrochemical, Power, or Industrial Manufacturing facilities.
- Strong background in process piping, mechanical construction, equipment setting, and industrial maintenance.
- Demonstrated success leading multiple projects and large field workforces simultaneously.
- Strong understanding of project controls, budgeting, scheduling, and contract administration.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and client-facing skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
