Russell Tobin's client, an operating online food ordering and food delivery, is hiring an Operations Clerk in Chicago, IL.

Job Title: City Launcher/Operations Clerk (Part-Time)

Location: Chicago, IL (within 30 miles, must be able to commute citywide)

Type: Part-Time

Pay Rate: $19 - 21/hr.

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and hands-on City Launcher to build, train, and maintain a high-quality workforce while ensuring an exceptional customer experience in your designated region. This role combines recruiting, training, and field operations—requiring someone who thrives on ownership, collaboration, and direct engagement in the field.

As a City Launcher, you will oversee all onsite support specialists (OSS) in your hub, ensuring launch success, quality performance, and smooth operations from the first interview to daily field execution. You will also be a key on-the-ground representative for local initiatives, including test orders, restaurant interactions, and operational support.

Key Responsibilities

Hiring & Onboarding

• Source, interview, and hire OSS for your region
• Ensure candidates meet standards for professionalism, reliability, and quality
• Own onboarding to set new hires up for success from day one

Training & Enablement

• Conduct initial and ongoing training for OSS
• Reinforce operational standards and participant experience guidelines
• Ensure OSS understand playbooks and expectations

Field Quality & Performance Management

• Coordinate coverage and onsite support for launches in your hub
• Observe and evaluate OSS during live shifts
• Provide actionable feedback and coaching
• Identify top performers and underperformers, taking appropriate action

Market Development & Operations Support

• Support local growth initiatives
• Conduct test orders and engage with restaurant partners
• Serve as the operational representative for your region

Ownership of Hub Performance

• Maintain a strong and reliable OSS team
• Ensure quality and coverage for all shifts
• Partner with Shift Leads and central operations to address gaps or risks

Qualifications

• 2–5 years in operations, field management, recruiting, or training roles
• Strong people judgment—able to identify high vs. low performers quickly
• Comfortable giving direct feedback and coaching in the field
• Highly organized and self-directed
• Willingness to be in the field regularly

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in marketplace operations, gig workforce management, or hospitality
• Experience launching or scaling operations in a new market
