Company Description
Flood Law LLC, based in Maryland and the Washington, D.C. metro, with attorneys also located in PA, NY, and CA, is seeking an experienced, Associate-level attorney to work as Of Counsel on a contract basis.
Key Requirements Include
- 5+ years of experience in commercial or employment litigation required. A mix of plaintiff and defense work a plus.
- Expectation is attorney will work independently and his or her work product will require only strategic oversight and light review and editing.
- Expertise in client interactions and developing case facts from scratch.
- Ability to manage all aspects of discovery independently, including drafting requests and responses, and managing document production.
- Attorney will have significant experience in motions practice, drafting briefs in support or opposition to motions to dismiss, compel, and for summary judgment.
- Expertise in independent legal research, separate from AI.
- Proficiency in use of AI as a research and drafting tool to supplement attorney’s independent work a plus.
- Billable hours will vary, but expectation would be 20 – 30 billable hours per week. Firm is on a growth trajectory and hours potential likely to increase over time.
- Maryland admission required, with additional admission in Virginia or DC a plus.
- Court appearances will be required.
- Attorney will be asked to submit a writing sample of a filed brief in state or federal court, signed by you.

The potential for growth with the firm will be high, depending on firm growth, the success of the attorneys' work, and the firm and the candidate’s preferences.
