Purpose

Provides advanced level of hands-on Organization Development & Design (OD&D) work with an expanded role in providing primary team(s) and project / initiative / strategy engagement oversight, guidance, and direction.

Essential Functions

Organization Design & Development Solutions: Provide consulting, service partner and/or leader enablement through the design & development of measurement, analytics & visualization tools across OD&D services including process & job design, performance management, & change & transition using proven OD&D methodologies, tools & processes. Design approach to consider & align structure, system, processes, people, policies, & technology with organization mission, vision, core values & brand promise, including double-loop learning.

Consulting Services: (Org Design, micro & macro, & Development focus) Provide OD&D consulting services spanning national initiatives, OD&D system level services and/or Service Areas. Execute OD&D consulting goals in collaboration and alignment with Organization Effectiveness (OE) COE goals & supporting TH strategic priorities. Design methodologies informed by stakeholder expectations, business priorities, challenges & uniqueness. Utilize performance improvement methodology & techniques & analytical tools to analyze operational issues & develop solutions for improvement alternatives.

Liaise with Client: Primary and/or Strategic project / engagement oversight to include meeting with clients to establish goals / timelines. Develop engagement plans that address the client's needs; promote innovation, performance effectiveness, efficiency & responsible stewardship.

Team leadership, Guidance, Resourcing & Oversight: Analyze and review proposals, provide thought leadership & encourage creative problem solving throughout the consulting process. Encourage team collaboration & partnerships within OD&D, OE COE partners and other system resource leaders. Delegating tasks among consulting team members as appropriate. Oversight of implementation and project progression. Evaluate the short- and long-term effectiveness of the implemented solution and adjust as necessary.

Coach & Mentor: Provides expert level and a mastery of organization design & development consulting services (complex, political, broad) Provides solutions in organizational capability design in support of strategic priorities and goals utilizing knowledge as a highly seasoned expert in the field. Acts as highly seasoned subject matter expert in coaching, overseeing, guiding & providing professional mentorship to career and senior level consultants

Increase Consultant & Team Capacity: Encourage consultant development & increase team capacity by providing opportunities for competency building calibrated with organizational needs & colleague career goals. Intentionally expose succession candidates to stretch assignments with pre-established clear & fair criteria for assessment; Provide cross-engagement opportunities to broaden resource availability.

Maintains a working knowledge of applicable federal, state & local laws / regulations, Trinity Health Integrity & Compliance Program & Code of Conduct, as well as other policies & procedures in order to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical & professional behavior & safe work practices.

Functional Role (not inclusive of titles or advancement career progression)

Use broad experiences, methodologies, and capabilities within Trinity Health (TH) practice domains that include, but are not limited to, Consulting & Project Ignition, Organization Process Design & Optimization, Organization Design Capability & Standardization, and Organization Enablement. Serves as a practice mentor, identify learning needs of others, contribute to the development of others & is identified as a “point of contact” resource for OD&D practice domains & Talent Management (TM) center of expertise, program management & engagement services. Leverage people, processes & technology to support and align system and regional initiatives and operational readiness.

Accountability:

  • Carry portfolio load (s) AND bring forward an area of expertise
  • Cross-collaborate with other leads for overall success and drive complex project integration
  • Maintain client relations for deployment updates, support with project guardrails, and project metric achievement
  • Act as a liaison between clients and consultancy team
  • Facilitate consulting services & other complimentary organization development services impacting large scale organization effectiveness, reliability, and culture
  • Facilitate, organize, optimize & lead / support internal OD&TM services operations.
  • Operates in a self-directed / self-managed manner.

Scope:

  • Consulting services for national initiatives, system level services and / or one or more (typically multi-state) Human Resources (HR) areas of service
  • Operate in a highly complex and sensitive environment
  • Point of contact resource
  • Individual contributor, consultant, lead & team member
  • Works with system level senior & executive clients
  • Strategic priority program management

Reporting:

  • A1 relationship to the Director Organization Design & Talent Management; A2 relationship to the Director Organization Design Services

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Ten (10) years’ progressively more responsible/complex consulting experience in org design & development in multi-unit business and/or healthcare including management/leadership position in OE/HR
  • Seven (7) years planning, formulating & executing work plans
  • Seven (7) years’ experience in organization assessment & design/development, AND deep expertise in multiple domains. Relevant Domains: Organization Design, Process Design, Role Design, Structure Design; Design & creation of solutions for strategy optimization, Operating model design & deployment, Talent capability alignment
  • Broad experience in end-to-end consulting on progressively large and complex projects.
  • Valid driver’s license where required by assignment. Ability to travel up to 25% based upon location & / or assignment.

Additional Qualifications (nice to have)

  • Master’s degree
  • Experience consulting across multiple industries, including healthcare
  • Operational program accountability in healthcare

Pay Range- $137,308- $226,559
