JOB DESCRIPTION

Insight Global is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) / Nurse Manager to oversee and coordinate all clinical and medical operations within a licensed Residential Care Home (population: up to 50 residents). This role provides leadership and oversight to LPNs and CNAs, ensures accurate and compliant medication systems, and maintains adherence to all local, state, and federal regulations. The RN Nurse Manager serves as the primary clinical authority for the facility, managing medication administration oversight, staff training, regulatory compliance, documentation, and resident care coordination. The role focuses heavily on behavioral health awareness, crisis de‑escalation, and operational leadership rather than high‑acuity bedside nursing.

Key responsibilities include:

-Supervising direct care staff

-Maintaining medication rooms and medical records

-Coordinating appointments and referrals

-Ensuring staff certifications remain current

-Preparing for Department of Public Health audits

-Collaborating with the Administrator on care planning and discharges

-The RN Nurse Manager also provides limited direct nursing care as needed, including wound care, diabetic testing, vaccinations, and resident assessments

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Associate’s Degree in Nursing (Bachelor’s preferred)
  • Active Connecticut Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • 5+ years of RN experience
  • 2+ years of nursing management, supervisory, or leadership experience
  • Prior experience working with elderly and/or mentally ill populations (residential care homes, group homes, or behavioral or mental health facilities)
  • Proven ability to lead, train, and supervise clinical staff
  • Experience with electronic medication administration systems

NICE TO HAVE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Prior hospital experience and/or working as a charge nurse at a hospital
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
  • Experience working with ACCUflo eMAR system (they have an online training for this one)
  • Experience overseeing medication administration performed by trained non‑licensed staff
  • Strong background in: policy development, audit preparation, and/or staff performance improvement initiatives
  • Experience managing low‑acuity populations with complex behavioral or psychosocial needs
