Summary:


The Nurse Supervisor plays a critical role in executing InterCommunity mission to promote whole person heath. Under the supervision and direction of the Residential Nurse Manager, the Nurse Supervisor is responsible for oversight of nursing assessment at admission to the program, medication administration and reconciliation, and ongoing client health monitoring, including treatment coordination and quality and outcome management, and staff training.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manages daily functions of the medication room to ensure highest quality client care.
  • Provides nursing care to assigned patients within the scope of knowledge and ability, and consistent with standards of nursing practice.
  • Completes focused alcohol and drug assessments at admission to the program.
  • Evaluates care administered by para-professional and non-professional staff, and provides guidance and instruction to improve specific areas of care.
  • Assists in development and implementation of policies and procedures.
  • Coordinates and assigns direct and indirect care functions fairly and according to capabilities of staff members.
  • Serves as Infection Control Nurse for the program.
  • Assumes a leadership role as needed during crisis response.
  • Oversees daily medication reconciliation process for all assigned patients to properly coordinate care and ensure patient safety, including coordinating with InterCommunity and outside providers.
  • Manages Medication Room schedules and completed payroll timely.
  • In the event of staff shortage, may be required to cover additional shifts.
  • Performs other program and agency duties as required and assigned.

Schedule:

Monday - Friday, 40 hours a week - 8 am, 8:30 am - 4:30 pm, 5:00 pm

on call responsibilities as needed, including evenings, nights and weekends

on call - rotating schedule to answer incoming weekend calls -


Requirements

Education &/Or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and an active unrestricted RN license.
  • 3 years of experience in a substance use and mental health treatment setting preferred.
