Non-Invasive Cardiologist

In partnership with Tampa General Hospital (TGH) Heart & Vascular Institute (HVI), the Division of Cardiovascular Sciences, Section of General & Preventive Cardiology, is seeking an academic non-invasive general cardiologist for a full-time position at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor rank. Preference is placed for  candidates with expertise in hypertension management or vascular disease to lead a resistant hypertension program or a medical vascular program. Candidates with expertise in sports cardiology are also encouraged to apply. This is a full-time, 12-month salaried faculty appointment and includes attending staff privileges at Tampa General Hospital (TGH) and affiliated hospitals. There is a desire for candidates with a strong interest in and commitment to teaching. Appointment at the rank of Associate Professor requires a minimum of five years of continuing and productive service as an Assistant Professor, or the equivalent. Appointment at the rank of Full Professor involves a minimum of five years of ongoing and productive service as an Associate Professor, or the equivalent.

  • Clinical -Participates in Inpatient general cardiology consult service, non-invasive call & coverage, reading EKGs and Stress Tests. Opportunity to participate in Echo Lab and Call & Coverage for Transesophageal Echocardiography, Stress Test on call, and Echo reads if certified from a nationally accredited organization. Participates in outpatient clinics for USF Health. Duties include Diagnose and treat disorders and diseases of the cardiovascular system. Participate in didactic teaching and mentoring of medical and/or graduate students, residents, and/or post-doctoral fellows.  Perform patient exams and order or conduct diagnostic testing.  Develop ongoing treatment and disease-management plans. Prescribe medicine and coordinate referrals as necessary.  Conduct early detection screenings.    Maintain accurate patient records and charts.  Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, staff, and administration.  Responsible to a Chair or other appropriate higher-level administrator of a State university.
