Job Description
A typical day as an Engineering Build Planner begins with reviewing build schedules to ensure alignment with product and go‑to‑market milestones. You will serve as the central point of coordination across Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, and Contract Manufacturers to make sure builds are fully ready before execution. This includes confirming material availability, resolving open issues, and driving accountability across teams.
Throughout the day, you will manage prototype and engineering build requests, oversee PCB orders and system accuracy within SAP, and work closely with supply chain partners to ensure material readiness. You will continuously monitor build status, risks, and constraints, providing real‑time visibility through dashboards and regular status updates. The role operates in a fast‑paced NPI environment and requires strong ownership, attention to detail, and the ability to drive decisions under shifting priorities to deliver high‑quality builds on schedule.
Day to Day
• Own the end‑to‑end planning and execution of engineering builds from prototype through early production
• Align build schedules with GTM milestones while managing scope changes, risks, and downstream impacts
• Lead Build Readiness and Execution meetings, driving issue resolution and clear decision making
• Manage prototype requests, PCB orders, BOM accuracy, and SAP transactions
• Coordinate with Supply Chain, Procurement, and Contract Manufacturers to ensure material readiness
• Track milestones, risks, shortages, and delivery commitments using dashboards and reporting tools
• Escalate constraints early and proactively drive mitigation plans
• Drive continuous improvement across build planning processes, tools, and execution models
Required Skills & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent practical experience
• 5 to 7 years of experience in build planning, manufacturing operations, or NPI execution
• Strong technical and operational leadership with the ability to influence without authority
• Hands‑on experience working with contract manufacturers and global supply chains
• Strong ERP and MRP systems experience, SAP preferred
• Comfortable operating in dynamic, high‑urgency environments
• Ability to travel up to approximately 30 percent
