Senior Network Security Engineer
Location: Onsite - Hopkinton, MA
Experience Level: Principal Security Engineer (I8)
Compensation: $65-80 per hour
Role Summary
Dell is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Security Engineer to join our team in designing, implementing, and maintaining the security infrastructure for our global sites. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of security principles, protocols, and technologies, as well as excellent technical and collaboration skills. The Security Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the security and integrity of our lab environments, and supporting the development of new products and technologies, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect, design, implement, and maintain lab security architectures that support diverse research and development teams. Ensure security scalability, reliability and performance while developing strategies for future growth and expansion.
- Oversee the daily operations of security systems, including monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolving security issues.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate security risks to lab environments, including vulnerabilities, threats, and incidents.
- Collaborate with security teams to develop and implement risk management strategies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with company security policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with governance teams to develop and implement security governance frameworks and procedures.
- Evaluate and recommend new security technologies and solutions to support lab requirements.
- Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to design, test, and implement new security solutions.
- Develop and maintain detailed documentation of security architectures, designs, and procedures.
- Lead and mentor a team of security engineers, providing guidance, training, and support.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including cybersecurity and IT to drive innovation and excellence.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Security, or related field.
- 10+ years of experience in security engineering, with 5+ years.
- Proven experience in design, implementing, and maintaining large-scale, complex security systems.
- Expert-level knowledge of security protocols, including encryption, authentication, and access control.
- Proficiency in security architecture, design, and implementation, including cloud and network security.
- Strong knowledge of security technology including firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, endpoint protection, and vulnerability management tools.
- Hands-on-experience with security solutions from major vendors (Palo Alto, Cisco, or similar)
- Experience with security management tools, including monitoring, troubleshooting, and configuration management.
- Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional certification such as CISSP, CISM or equivalent.
- Experience with cloud security technologies, including AWS, Azure or GCP.
- Proficiency in scripting or automation tools (Python, Ansible, etc.)
- Experience with security orchestration technologies.
