Overview

We are seeking aMonitor Technician,sometimes referred to asourTelemetry Monitor Technician(Tech)or Tele Monitor Tech.A Tele Monitor Tech willberesponsible forobservingand interpreting patients’ heart rhythms and other vital data transmitted by telemetry equipment. This role is crucial foridentifyingand alerting the medical team to any abnormalities or critical changes in a patient’s cardiac or health status. The Monitor Technician detects early warning signs of cardiac events, ensuringtimelyintervention, and improving patient outcomes in our telemetry unit.

Shifts Available: Nights

Hours:12-hour shifts – 7:00 pm to 7:00 am

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):

• Cardiac monitoring,observeand interpret heart rhythms (ECG/EKG) displayed on telemetry monitors

• Recognize normal and abnormal cardiac patterns, such as arrhythmias, and document findings

• Notify nurses or physicians of any significant changes in a patient’s heart rhythm or vital signs promptly, escalate critical issues (e.g., life-threatening)immediately

• Set up,maintain, and troubleshoot telemetry equipment, including electrodes and monitors

• Ensure proper signal transmission and resolve issues with poor connections or faulty equipment

• Record telemetry readings in the patient’s medical record for documentation and review, generate rhythm strips for analysis by the medical team

Qualifications

Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Current Dysrhythmia Interpretation Certificate within 30 days of hire and maintain current
• Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current
• Six months previous experience in Healthcare or as Monitor Technician
