Model Based Definition Engineer

Insight Global is looking to hire a senior drafter & modeler at the checker level to be a Model Based Definition (MBD) Engineer. This candidate will join a large commercial and military aircraft manufacturing company onsite in East Hartford, CT. The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of drafting/modeling experience OR experience in a product definition/model-based definition environment, with the ability to review and check models as well as integrity of drawings. The candidate will have a strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) standards such as ASME Y14.5. The MBD Engineer will support multiple military and commercial programs, meaning they must be comfortable working with cross functional engineering and design teams as well as possess the ability to obtain a security clearance. The candidate will follow a design checklist and spend time reviewing detailed models, translate design intent, review product definition and be involved in change management support.

• Verify complete accuracy of parametric 3D Siemens NX models and definition. Definition could be 2D associative drawing definition or Model Based Definition (MBD) as required.
• Ensure accurate part interrelationships through tolerance and geometric studies
• Participate with product team as Product Definition delegate
• Prepare/Maintain various product related Teamcenter/NX Manager data in support of Engineering activities

Required Skills & Experience:

• Senior level hands on experience with Product Definition or Model Based Definition (MBD)
• Proficient with ASME Y14.5 Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) standards
• Experience utilizing Siemens NX and Team Center PLM tools is preferred. Similar CAD experience with Catia, Autodesk Revit, PTC Creo or SolidWorks can also apply

Nice to Have Skills & Experience:

• Active Security Clearance or ability to obtain one in order to support Military programs
• Strong communication and team collaboration skills in order work across various engineering groups
• Experience within Aerospace or equivalent manufacturing industry

Locations: East Hartford & Middletown, CT

Pay Rate: $55-66/hour depending on experience
