a well-qualified candidate to fill a Mission Integration Specialist NH-0343-III position.

Description of Position: Searching for a self-motivated individual to synchronize, monitor, and assess integrated kinetic and non-kinetic effects across all event horizons that cross areas of responsibility or that directly support USSPACECOM objectives.


Position Responsibilities:

  • Provide joint fires operations expertise in support of strategic and operational planning and execution in support of USSPACECOM mission areas to create multi-domain effects on targets to achieve CCMD objectives.
  • Execute joint fires as the supported or supporting command, aligned with policy, guidance, instructions, and doctrine to ensure compliance with required authorities and rules of engagement.
  • Prepare and deliver written targeting specific products and oral presentations such as briefings and training sessions with other staff functions and activities to secure cooperation, resolve controversial matters, and convey operational information.


Desired Skills/Expertise:

  • In-depth knowledge of joint war fighting doctrine, unified combatant command structure, and global command and control constructs with application to joint targeting doctrine and operations.
  • Comprehensive understating of the Join Planning Process (JPP) and the six step targeting cycle which enables substantive contribution to operational planning teams.
  • Ability to develop and coordinate doctrinal targeting products, within the targeting community of interest, to support working groups and decision boards.
  • Ability to independently execute projects and/or studies within established time constraints.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; articulate complex issues; and maintain good working relations.
  • Ability to lead study teams; originate new ideas, projects, and methodologies.

  • Applicants must have at experience at the next lower grade level/pay band, or equivalent in other pay systems in demonstrating expert knowledge and skill in applying
  • analytical/evaluative methods and techniques to issues or studies concerning the efficiency and effectiveness of operations for development and/or improvement of critical command plans and readiness for conducting major operations such as war, mobilization, mission and flying operations, deployment, acquisition, special operations, space operations or similar; advanced knowledge of military command structure, missions, programs, and organizational relationships and program goals and objectives, the sequence and timing of key operational events and milestones, and methods of evaluating the effectiveness of planning actions as related to actual events; and comprehensive knowledge of the various command entities involved in overall planning and execution of operations and evaluations.
  • This occupational series does not have an education qualification requirement, however, Bachelor degree in Political Science, Space Operations, Organizational Structure/Efficiency, or other related fields is highly desired. Masters degree or Ph.D. preferred.

Conditions of Employment:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Position requires a TS/SCI security clearance to fully perform the duties and responsibilities of the position. A non-disclosure agreement must be signed.
  • Selectee will be required to obtain and maintain approval to access the portfolio of Special Access Programs required to perform daily duties.
  • Drug testing required
  • May be required to travel by military or commercial aircraft in the performance of TDY assignments.


**Value of Position (VOP): If your current basic salary is within the band, but above the stated VOP, your basic salary will not be reduced if you are selected for the position.
