Job Title: Industrial Maintenance Technician
Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Industrial Maintenance Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, replacing, and dismantling machinery and heavy equipment used in industrial settings. This role involves performing a variety of essential duties and responsibilities to ensure optimal machinery functionality.

Responsibilities

  • Replace defective parts of machines and adjust clearances and alignment of moving parts.
  • Align machines and equipment using hoists, jacks, hand tools, squares, rules, micrometers, and plumb bobs.
  • Connect power units to machines or steam piping to equipment, and test units to evaluate mechanical operations.
  • Repair and lubricate machines and equipment.
  • Assemble and install equipment using hand tools and power tools.
  • Position steel beams to support bedplates of machines and equipment using blueprints and schematic drawings.
  • Signal crane operator to lower basic assembly units to bedplate and align units to centerline.
  • Insert shims, adjust tension on nuts and bolts, or position parts using hand tools and measuring instruments.
  • Move machinery and equipment using hoists, dollies, rollers, and trucks.
  • Attach moving parts and subassemblies to basic assembly units using hand tools and power tools.
  • Assemble machines and fasten them to foundations or other structures using hand tools and power tools.
  • Lay out mounting holes using measuring instruments and drill holes with power drills.
  • Bolt parts such as side and deck plates, jaw plates, and journals to basic assembly units.
  • Level bedplate and establish centerline using straightedge, levels, and transit.
  • Dismantle machines using hammers, wrenches, crowbars, and other hand tools.
  • Shrink-fit bushings, sleeves, rings, liners, gears, and wheels using portable gas heating equipment.
  • Dismantle machinery and equipment for shipment to installation sites, performing installation and maintenance work as part of a team.
  • Construct foundations for machines using hand tools and building materials such as wood, cement, and steel.
  • Operate engine lathe to grind, file, and turn machine parts to dimensional specifications.
Essential Skills
  • Strong industrial maintenance ability.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical issues on machines without documentation.
  • Ability to perform preventive maintenance on a wide variety of manufacturing equipment.
  • Mechanical, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance skills.
  • Electrical and schematic knowledge.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Ability to meet physical demands such as sitting, using hands, reaching, standing, walking, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, talking, hearing, tasting, and smelling.
  • Ability to regularly lift and move up to 25 pounds and frequently lift and move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

The work environment involves working from 6 AM to 2:30 PM, with the possibility of shifting to 5 AM to 1:30 PM. There is ample opportunity for overtime, especially on Saturdays. Expect to spend 90% of the day walking or standing, and be prepared to handle non-air-conditioned parts of the shop. The shop can be dirty, and hands-on work is required. Attire includes steel-toed shoes and plain work pants or jeans.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Phoenix, AZ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
