Responsibilities
As a PRN PCT member of our Internal Resource Pool, you will be the heartbeat of support – helping teams deliver quality care every shift. You’ll have the flexibility to pick up shifts, between 200 and 900 hours per year (12 months from hire). Working under the supervision of licensed clinical staff, you’ll play an essential role in maintaining patient comfort, safety and efficient unit operations.
- Assist with direct patient care, including vital signs, hygiene, mobility, feeding, intake/output, and other daily activities.
- Support nurses and providers in patient monitoring, documentation, and coordination to ensure seamless patient care.
- Maintain cleanliness and readiness of patient rooms, equipment, and supplies to promote a safe and organized environment.
- Provide clerical and administrative support, facilitating communication within the care team.

Our Community Behavioral Health Center is licensed to 73 beds, carries an average daily census of 69 patients, and has an average length of stay of 5-6 days. Here, under the supervision of the Registered Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse, you will assist in the delivery of daily care. As a Mental Health Worker, you will provide direct patient care and assistance with basic life skills to our patients.
Qualifications
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience as a Mental Health Worker is required.
- BLS - Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers by American Heart Association (AHA) required
- One of the following is required
- CNA - State of California Certified Nursing Assistant Certification (active or inactive status is acceptable)
- EMT - Emergency Medical Technician Certification issued by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (active or inactive status is acceptable)
- AEMT - Advanced Emergency Medical Technician Certification issued by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (active or inactive status is acceptable)
- PARAMEDICC - Paramedic Certification issued by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (active or inactive status is acceptable)
- Enrollment in, or completion of, an accredited clinical RN or LVN program
