SAIC is seeking a Mental Health Clinician (Employee Assistance Counselor) to support our customer in Chantilly, VA with occasional day trips to Fort Belvoir, VA. The Mental Health Clinician (EAP) provides evidence-based, individualized mental health services in support of employee well-being and organizational resilience. This role delivers direct clinical care, crisis response, consultation, and wellness programming while collaborating closely with leadership, internal partners, and external providers. Services are delivered through a combination of in-person and secure telehealth platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide evidence-based, individualized clinical mental health services, including intake assessments, short-term counseling, and adult consultations, delivered through face-to-face and telehealth modalities.
- Identify appropriate community-based mental health and substance use resources and provide referral assistance when clinically indicated.
- Deliver case management services and monitor treatment progress in select cases to support continuity of care and shared outcomes.
- Provide expert consultation to leadership, teams, and internal stakeholders regarding workplace issues with a mental health or behavioral health nexus.
- Respond to crisis situations as needed, including unscheduled walk-ins and emergent events.
- Maintain timely, accurate clinical documentation for all encounters and manage administrative responsibilities, including scheduling, care coordination, and clinical updates to EAP leadership.
- Research, develop, and deliver psychological health and wellness content, including briefings, workshops, and written mental health resources tailored to workforce needs.
- Identify and coordinate with relevant industry speakers for educational events, conferences, or engagements, managing logistics in collaboration with program leadership.
- Develop and facilitate employee support groups as needed.
- Support the design, implementation, and delivery of wellness programming and outreach initiatives, including mental health awareness campaigns and maintenance of internal wellness resources.
- Assist in maintaining an EAP lending library or repository of mental health–related educational materials.
- Collect, analyze, and report program metrics and utilization data to leadership upon request.
- Travel domestically on an occasional basis to support onsite mental health coverage as required.
