The Membership Specialist is responsible for managing all aspects of membership operations, including facilitating the enrollment process, verifying eligibility, collecting necessary documentation, and guiding potential clients through the registration process, ensuring a smooth transition into treatment programs while adhering to all relevant policies and regulations.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conducts initial consultations to assess client needs and determine eligibility for services.
- Gathers demographic information, medical history, and insurance information to complete accurate enrollment forms.
- Participates in the intake process by completing initial demographic screening.
- Records client data into electronic health records (EHR) and maintain updated client information.
- Performs front office functions related to appointments, insurance verifications, and fee collection.
- Assists with state-funded benefits applications.
- Connects clients to resources within JFCS and coordinates with outside agencies to address client needs.
- Opens, transfers and closes out client charts.
- Works to reengage clients when they are removed or fall off the clinician schedule.
- Collaborates with staff at all levels to ensure effective membership operations.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned
WORK HOURS, SCHEDULE & FLEXIBILITY
This position often works in office- weekdays; however, there may be some evening or weekend events that will require your attendance to best represent the Agency. Some flexibility in scheduling exists, as long as Agency needs are being adequately addressed.

REQUIREMENTS
- Associate's Degree OR 1-2 years of experience
- Bilingual preferred
- Strong written, verbal, presentation and communication skills
- Positive attitude, proactive mentality, responsive, and strong work ethic
- Ability to interact effectively in a team setting
- Ability to interact professionally and effectively with victims of crimes and trauma
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
