Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM

Experience:

• 12 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.

• Must have at least 10 months of Medical Surgical Oncology experience.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Ohio license or compact license (required after submission).

• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <60 miles from facility will be processed as local.

• 6 months gap required between for Any Contract Type at Program: Aya Program - James Cancer Hospital and Research and no current placement allowed at Program: Aya Program - James Cancer Hospital and Research.

Additional Details:

Required Credentials: - Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program.

Required Skills/Experience: - Must meet experience requirements within 3 recent years. However, must have at least 1 year of CURRENT specialty experience for a clinical pass. - IV therapy/Phlebotomy, Blood Product Administration, Central line blood draw, Peripheral Line Care/Management, PICC line management, Starting and maintaining IVs, Oncology, Respiratory, Tracheostomy care/management, Genitourinary/Renal, Medications, Heparin, Cardiac Monitoring and Emergency response, Interpretation of dysrhythmias, Management of dysrhythmias, Telemetry - on the unit monitoring, Professional Knowledge and Skills, Isolation Precautions/PPE, Endocrine /Metabolic, Work Settings, MS/Tele, Plastics

Preferred Skills/Experience: - 2 years of oncology experience preferred, but not required. - Accessing/Managing Ports, Phlebotomy, Administration of chemotherapy, Monitoring Chemotherapy, BiPAP/CPAP management/maintenance, Chest tubes-Emerson/PleurEvac, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), Nasal Cannula, Continuous Bladder Irrigation (CBI), PCA, Use of Rapid Response/Code teams, Wound Care/Wound Vac, IV insulin protocols, Telemetry, Surgical drains*

Special Requests: - References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years. - You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing. - Cannot apply to any James Cancer Hospital & Research facilities if you have an active application to any of the Ohio State University facilities. - Mixed acuity PCU/MS Tele unit caring for medical oncology patients. - Variety of diagnoses from solid tumors to some blood cancers. - High acuity patient population. - Chemotherapy competence is not required for unit, but we are willing to help with professional development and send you to our 2-day chemo course for training if interested. - Pediatric patients are cared for on this unit but are extremely rare and would likely be cared for by permanent staff. Pediatric experience is not required to be an agency RN here.

Shift & Scheduling: - Self-schedule requests - you will enter your schedule requests so we can see your preferred schedule before balancing and posting the final schedule. - Weekend shifts are variable.

Floating Requirements: - Required to float within units of equivalent or lower level of acuity. - To other MS Tele units.

Special Requests: RTO required with submission, must be built into contract

Details:

AUTO OFFER - NO INTERVIEW: This is an auto-offer position. You will likely not interview with the facility prior to receiving an offer. However, an interview can be arranged upon request. All time off requests must be submitted at application. Scheduling requests must be worked out with the manager directly upon starting the assignment. Any offers for this job will require a clear “Yes” or “No” response from the nurse within 24hrs or the offer must be declined.
