Medical Surgical Nurse

We are seeking an experienced Med/Surg Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced clinical environment. The RN will be responsible for managing pre- and post-operative patients, delivering bedside care, and collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans
  • Provide direct bedside care to pre- and post-surgical patients
  • Administer and document medications as prescribed
  • Monitor patient vitals and report any adverse reactions promptly
  • Perform clinical procedures such as IV insertion, catheterization, and wound care
  • Operate and monitor specialized medical equipment
  • Assist with discharge planning in collaboration with the care team
  • Educate patients and families on procedures, recovery, and ongoing care
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation
  • Adhere to established nursing standards, protocols, and best practices


Qualifications

  • Active RN license in New York
  • Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited institution
  • Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg experience in an acute care or post-acute setting
  • Recent clinical experience within the past year
  • BLS certification (AHA required)
  • ACLS certification (AHA required for select units)
  • Strong clinical skills in patient assessment, medication administration, and post-operative care
  • Proficiency in IV therapy, wound care, infection control, and telemetry monitoring
  • Epic experience required


Important Details:

  • 13-week contract position
  • Shift is 12 hrs/days and Nights, 36 hrs/week
  • Location is Brooklyn, NY 11206
  • Pay Range for Locals: $54 - $57per hour
