We are hiring a Medical Assistant (Full-time) to join UTHealth Houston School of Public Health in El Paso, Tx. Daily tasks in this role include patient registration/check-in, verifiying all registration documents are up-to-date, answering phone calls, reviewing faxes, collecting patient payments, completing insurance prior authorization requests, appealing denied insurance prior authorizations, requesting medical records from other healthcare providers/services, answering/addressing patient portal questions/concerns, performing vital signs and recording in the electronic health record (EHR), uploading patient documents to the EHR, preparing the charts of upcoming appointments, scheduling/re-scheduling patient appointments, other duties as assigned by the healthcare provider. Ideal candidate for this position should have some experience as a Medical Assistant and working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. Bilingual in Spanish is preferred.
