Job Summary and ResponsibilitiesAs our Medical Assistant, you'll keep the day running smoothly and efficiently for your patients and clinical team.
Every day, you will take the lead on proactively preparing patient charts, ensuring all information is obtained and up-to-date for those seen in our facility. You can expect to have multiple patients daily depending on the number of physicians are on-site.
Your success in this role comes from your enthusiasm to help others, work efficiently, and your empathy for our patients.
- Performs venipunctures and capillary punctures according to departmental standards
- Assists in the delivery of direct patient care under the oversight of a Registered Nurse and/or licensed medical practitioner and receives written and/or oral assignments and direction
- Obtains labs or procedure results, if not in chart, vital signs, chief complaint, reason for visit, allergies, current phone number and family list
- Documents patient care activities and patient data accurately using appropriate documentation forms and/or information systems
- Ensures exam rooms are clean which includes cleaning surgical equipment, preparing for delivery to central supply and disinfecting all patient contact equipment
- Performs required skills such as, but not limited to, vital sign measurement, aseptic technique, non-invasive specimen collection, spirometry, hearing testing, vision testing and EKGs, etc
Job RequirementsRequired
- One year experience as a Medical Assistant in an outpatient medical office, or physician clinic setting orMedical Assistant Training Certificate from an accredited program and recent Medical Assistant experience
- Phlebotomist: CA
- Basic Life Support - BLS through an American Heart Association provider
Preferred
- Associates in related field
- Recent phlebotomy
- Two years experience in a clinical setting
