Job Description

This role is a senior mechanical engineering position focused on steam and combustion turbine technology, responsible for preparing and reviewing complex engineering deliverables, providing technical guidance on engineering processes and standards, and supporting the design, operations, maintenance, safety, and compliance of generating resources. They work closely with plant teams and other engineers, guide junior staff, support investigations into equipment problems, help plan and oversee engineering projects from scope through completion, track project costs, and serve as a technical specialist within turbine technology.


Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering. Preferred from ABET-accredited engineering program or program accredited by an equivalent agency.
  • 5+ years of experience in engineering or 4+ years in related field w/ PE license.
  • Valid driver's license required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review complex mechanical engineering designs and technical deliverables related to power generation equipment, including steam and combustion turbines
  • Support the operation, maintenance, reliability, safety, and regulatory compliance of generating resources by analyzing designs and recommending improvements
  • Review engineering calculations, perform and evaluate technical studies, and support root cause analyses for equipment or system issues
  • Investigate and resolve complex construction, maintenance, and operational problems and develop corrective actions
  • Coordinate with plant staff, engineers, and cross‑functional teams to scope, plan, and support engineering projects, including cost tracking
  • Provide technical guidance and design direction to other engineers, technicians, and designers, and serve as a technical resource for turbine technology
