Mechanical Engineer

Actalent is looking for a Mechanical Engineer. This person will be responsible for the following:

Job Description

• Reviews and evaluates sales order requirements\specifications to configure and\or develop solutions
• Works with Sales and potentially the customer to resolve requirements
• Works with Electrical Engineers and Drafting to produce customer drawings
• Acts as the technical lead on assigned projects
• Works with internal groups such as Assembly, Procurement and field technicians during start up to resolve issues
• Works with Sales and Applications Engineering
• Approves project release to Manufacturing
• Works with Assembly and Test departments to resolve issues encountered during build\test
• Work as part of a project team to deliver cost effective, manufacturable designs
• Provide updates on project status and timeline

Must Have

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required
• 3+ years in some of the following:
• Designing and developing electro mechanical equipment
• Designing sheet metal products
• Experience with development, design and engineering of mechanical\electrical systems using both 2Dand 3D CAD software (Creo preferred)
• Experience with OEM design activities
• Experience with bill of materials (BOMs)
• Experience with casting, compressors, pumps and/or motors
• Project management experience

Nice to Have

• Electrical testing experience
• Knowledge in noise attenuation (fan silencers)
• Customer interfacing experience
• Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) experience
• Understanding of seismic, wind and vibration calculations

Work Environment

Recently opened a new office near the manufacturing facility. They will be working on a team with a dozen engineers. 90% of their day will be spent at a desk. 10% will be on the floor.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Seven Hills, OH.

The pay range for this position is $48.00 - $58.00/hr.
