Mechanical Engineer

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

🔹 Mechanical Design & Drawings

• Review, update, and standardize mechanical and assembly drawings
• Ensure compliance with RTX and aerospace industry standards
• Develop accurate, production-ready assembly drawings

🔹 Simulation & Analysis

• Perform Finite Element Analysis (FEA) using ANSYS
• Conduct thermal and structural analysis aligned with DO-160 requirements
• Generate reports with findings and design recommendations

🔹 Engineering Change Management

• Execute and manage Engineering Change Orders (ECOs/COs)
• Collaborate cross-functionally to implement design updates
• Maintain proper documentation and revision control

🔹 Legacy Product Support

• Review and resolve issues in legacy drawings and assemblies
• Work with operations and contract manufacturers to address production challenges
• Support manufacturing transitions and documentation alignment

🔹 Process & Compliance

• Ensure all designs meet RTX and regulatory standards
• Develop and document mechanical drawing processes and best practices

🔹 Reporting & Communication

• Provide weekly progress updates to project stakeholders
• Deliver milestone and completion reports
• Participate in cross-functional meetings and design reviews

Must-Have Skills

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering

• 5–10+ years of experience in mechanical design & analysis

• Strong hands-on experience with:

o ANSYS (FEA & thermal analysis)

o SolidWorks (advanced modeling, simulation, PDM)

• Experience with engineering drawings, GD&T, and assembly design

• Proven experience managing Engineering Change Orders (ECO/CO)

• Familiarity with aerospace standards (DO-160, RTX or similar)

• Experience supporting manufacturing or contract manufacturers
