Job Description:
Are you a Mechanical Engineer looking to play a key part in supporting product quality, manufacturing, and new product development? Our Welding Accessories and Cutting Division of Miller Electric is looking for someone who brings energy, curiosity, and a can-do mindset— a strong communicator who can thrive both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Key Responsibilities:
Supplier Collaboration & Project Support:
Collaborate with suppliers throughout development to ensure cost targets and timelines stay on track.
Support product quality and manufacturing efforts by maintaining strong communication and alignment across internal teams and external partners.
Testing, Validation & Continuous Improvement
Evaluate, test, and troubleshoot challenges related to tooling, product design, quality, and production methods—summarizing findings in clear, actionable reports.
Design and execute test setups, build prototypes, operate lab/shop equipment, collect data, and deliver comprehensive test reports.
Champion continuous improvement in manufacturing and assembly processes, with a focus on safety, quality, efficiency, and delivery.
Engineering Execution & Product Development
Take an active, hands-on role in all aspects of design, including CAD modeling, fabrication, assembly, troubleshooting, reliability testing, compliance, documentation, product launch, and manufacturing support.
Partner with engineers, technicians, service, and manufacturing teams to develop reliable, cost-effective, and streamlined product solutions.
Design and document components and assemblies using SolidWorks.
Contribute across all stages of new product development—Discover, Create, Develop, and Deploy.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (or related field) with relevant industry experience preferred.
3+ years of hands-on engineering experience.
Skills & Abilities
Core Competencies
Proven track record in innovative design, Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFM/DFA), and effective time management.
Proficiency with SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office tools.
A collaborative team player with a positive attitude, strong motivation, and excellent communication skills.
Solid foundation in core mechanical engineering principles, including statics, dynamics, mechanics of materials, vibrations, heat transfer, material selection, and physics.
