Job Title: Mechanical DesignerJob Description

We are seeking a Junior to Mid-level CAD Drafter to support our production and manufacturing workflow. This role focuses on technical drafting, revisions, and ensuring shop drawing accuracy, working closely with an experienced drafter, as well as sales and project management teams.

Responsibilities
  • Create, edit, and review 2D shop drawings using AutoCAD.
  • Translate architectural plans, sketches, and markups into clear, build-ready drawings.
  • Revise drawings efficiently based on internal and external feedback.
  • Maintain drawing standards, accuracy, and version control.
  • Assist with material take-offs and preparation for manufacturing.
  • Coordinate with sales and project management to support project timelines.
Essential Skills
  • Minimum of 3 years drafting experience.
  • Experience in construction, fabrication, or manufacturing environments is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of construction documents and technical drawings.
  • Ability to work from markups, redlines, and established standards.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and 3D design software.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Proficient in reading technical and architectural drawings.
  • Experience with Solidworks, CAD, sheet metal, mechanical drafting, and fabrication.
  • Familiarity with steel fabrication and steel metal.
  • Experience with MPanel, Revit, and Sketchup is a plus.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Santa Ana, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $36.00/hr.
