Mechanical Design Engineer - machine design

GNR has been retained to identify an innovative MECHANICAL DESIGN ENGINEER with a passion for engineering first-generation, innovative precision machine systems and solutions.

This is NOT your typical Mechanical Engineering position! You will be part of a “THINK TANK” developing advanced custom mechanical / robotic / motion controls solutions to further the company’s development and production programs.

You’ll be part of a small group white-boarding and creating solutions that don’t exist, the end application could serve different purposes; high precision assembly, metrology instrumentation, or lab equipment.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

• 5 years + of Mechanical Design experience & able to work in a small collaborative teams to design electro-mechanical / robotics / motion control systems.
• Experience with any of the following types of equipment design: metrology, semiconductor, lab/medical, precision mechanical designs, automation/visual inspection systems, surgical robotics
• Material selection, electro-mechanics and manufacturing processes for machining, additive, microfabrication etc.
• Strong analytical experience, part design & tight tolerance and modeling.
• Ensure performance & functionality before transitioning your system to operation / manufacturing center
• Fluent with 3D CAD tools: SolidWorks, CATIA, Inventor, Autodesk
• BS/MS/PhD in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Physics or Engineering
• US Citizen / Perm Resident
