Assistant Project Manager – Mechanical Construction

Orange County, CA

HVAC • Piping • Plumbing

Some subcontractors install systems. Others build environments people remember.

We’re looking for an Assistant Project Manager who wants to grow into the kind of leader who does the latter.

You’ll support the planning, coordination, and execution of mechanical construction projects across Orange County — from preconstruction through closeout. This isn’t a paperwork role. It’s hands‑on, detail‑driven work that puts you at the center of schedules, budgets, field coordination, and client communication.

If you’re hungry to learn, ready to take ownership, and excited to build a long‑term career in mechanical construction, this is a strong place to do it.

What You’ll Take On

• Assisting Project Managers with full‑cycle mechanical project delivery

• Supporting buyout, submittals, RFIs, change orders, and document control

• Tracking budgets, cost events, labor hours, and productivity

• Coordinating with field teams, foremen, vendors, and design partners

• Helping maintain project schedules and ensuring materials/equipment arrive on time

• Preparing meeting minutes, logs, and progress reports

• Supporting quality control, safety compliance, and closeout documentation

What Sets You Up for Success

• Experience or exposure to mechanical systems — HVAC, piping, plumbing

• Ability to read drawings, specs, and mechanical plans

• Strong organizational skills and a proactive mindset

• Clear, concise communication with both field and office teams

• A desire to grow into a full Project Manager role

• Mechanical Engineering degree or field experience is a major plus

Why This Opportunity Stands Out

• Work with a respected mechanical subcontractor with deep roots in the region

• Projects with real technical complexity and visibility

• Leadership that invests in developing future PMs

• A culture that values initiative, accountability, and long‑term growth

If you’re ready to build your career in mechanical construction and want a role where you’ll learn fast, contribute immediately, and grow into a PM seat, this is worth a conversation.
