Job Title: Transformer Assembler

POSITION OVERVIEW:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Transformer Assembler to join our client’s transformer department in Troy, Michigan. This position plays a critical role in achieving our strategic objectives. This is an important part of the company’s plan to become the world’s foremost custom solution provider.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
• Read, comprehend, and execute processes according to the work order and blueprint to determine the materials and parts needed.
• Operate a coil-winding machine to wind small inductors to be used in transformer units.
• Use light machinery such as a large fabrication shear, strip steel shear, manual punch machines, and porter saws.
• Count and stack steel according to blueprints.
• Gather materials and organize the transformer core according to blueprints.
• Use an overhead crane to move completed components off the machines.
• Operate hand tools, power tools, shears, saws, winding machines, brakes, and punches.
• Must be able to read and interpret winding diagrams and specifications.
• Must be able to read and understand tape measure markings down to 1/16th of an inch.
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Qualifications
• High school diploma
• 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds unassisted.
• Must be able to read, write, and comprehend plant directives.
• Frequent lifting, standing, bending & reaching required.
• Must adhere to all the PPE requirements to perform the job safely, which includes but is not limited to Eye, Hand, Feet, and Hearing protection.
