Mechanical Assemblers – 1st and 2nd Shift

Paying $23-25/hr

Job Description

This role involves assembling furniture, including tables, desks, and chairs, using hand and power tools in a fast-paced production environment. You will contribute directly to the manufacturing of school and cafeteria equipment. We are looking for a mechanically inclined person who is looking for a career in Assembly!

Responsibilities

  • Assemble tables, desks, chairs, and large cafeteria tables according to production specifications and guidelines.
  • Use hand and power tools such as screwdrivers, power drills, rivet guns, sockets, and wrenches to build and secure components.
  • Measure materials accurately with a tape measure and cut, align, or position parts based on required dimensions.
  • Drill and attach hinges, legs, arms, and other hardware to furniture components to complete finished products.
  • Follow mechanical assembly instructions and, where applicable, basic blueprints or diagrams to ensure correct assembly.
  • Work efficiently on an assembly line to meet daily production targets and quality standards.
  • Perform general labor tasks related to assembly, including moving, positioning, and packaging assembled products as needed.
  • Inspect assembled items for quality, ensuring all parts are securely fastened and meet safety and durability expectations.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, keeping tools and equipment in good working condition.
  • Adhere to all safety procedures and guidelines while working with hand and power tools and in a busy production environment.
  • Complete and pass a tape measure and skills test to demonstrate mechanical aptitude and tool proficiency.

Essential Skills

  • Strong mechanical inclination and hands-on aptitude for building and assembling products.
  • Proficiency with hand and power tools, including screwdrivers, power drills, rivet guns, sockets, and wrenches.
  • Ability to accurately read and use a tape measure for precise measurements.
  • Experience with mechanical assembly or production work in a manufacturing or similar environment.
  • Capability to work on an assembly line and follow standardized processes and instructions.
  • Stable work history demonstrating reliability and consistency.
  • Ability to pass a tape measure test and a practical skills assessment.
  • Physical ability to stand for long periods, lift and move materials, and perform repetitive tasks in a warm environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience assembling furniture, fixtures, or other mechanical products is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with reading basic blueprints or assembly diagrams is a plus.
  • Experience with general labor, production, or packaging environments is advantageous.
  • Comfort working with a variety of mechanical fasteners and hardware.
  • Willingness to work overtime, including additional hours on some Fridays in the spring and summer.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00/hr.
