Job Description
We’re looking for a dependable, motivated Diesel Mechanic Assistant to help support our diesel and heavy equipment mechanics working on dump trucks and tractor/semi trailers. This is a hands‑on role in a construction and trucking environment and a great opportunity for someone who wants to build a long‑term career in diesel mechanics.
You’ll work directly with experienced mechanics, learn the trade, and get steady, year‑round work with the opportunity to move into a permanent position based on performance.
Schedule
- Monday–Friday: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM (hours may vary)
- Saturdays as needed
- Full‑time, year‑round work
What You’ll Be Doing
- Assist senior mechanics with truck and equipment repairs
- Perform routine maintenance, including:
- Oil changes
- Brake pad replacements
- Tire changes
- Tune‑ups
- Support general truck and equipment maintenance
- Use hand and power tools safely and properly
- Assist with more advanced repairs as skills improve
- Keep the shop clean, safe, and organized
- Jump in on other tasks as needed to keep operations running
What We’re Looking For
- Reliable transportation to and from work
- High school diploma or GED required
- Automotive or diesel repair schooling preferred, not required
- Experience using hand and power tools
- Familiarity with gasoline and diesel equipment
- Basic understanding of car, truck, or tractor engines
- Willingness to learn and take direction
- Some hands‑on repair experience preferred — training available for the right person
- Strong work ethic, dependable, and eager to grow
