MATH TEACHER Grade 7 2026-2027 ASA’s m ission is to inspire creative thinkers and leaders through providing an innovative concentration in college preparation inform ed by the perform ing arts. This faculty m em ber designs and delivers m ath curriculum to 7th grade students focusing on identifying proportional relationships, understanding rational num bers in order to build on students’ understanding of the num ber line by introducing algebraic concepts, exploring geom etry, and investigating the w orld of data analysis and probability. This position requires a faculty m em ber that can deliver tw o levels of instruction, Standard College Prep and Advanced M ath (Pre-Algebra), serving those students possessing accelerated m ath skills. Class sizes are approxim ately 28 students. Academ ic teachers have daily prep tim e for curriculum planning, m eeting, integrating, and assessing. ASA uses the Core Know ledge M athem atics™ curriculum . This teacher w orks closely w ith the M ath D epartm ent and the 7th grade team to provide a supportive and integrated learning experience. ASA teachers provide an academ ic curriculum that is rigorous, relevant, and aligned w ith ASA’s m ission and core values. Curriculum developm ent and im plem entation reflects Arizona State Standards layered w ith ASA’s innovative college prep focus that fosters intellectual curiosity, em phasizes active engagem ent, project-based learning, inquiry-based discussions, research, advanced w ritten and oral skills, and collaboration. This position reports to the Assistant Principal of Lower School. Essential Duties and Responsibilities ● Plan and deliver standards-aligned lessons that are clear, engaging, and appropriately challenging. ● Establish a classroom environm ent that is safe, respectful, and conducive to learning. ● Build strong relationships w ith students; foster a sense of belonging and trust. ● Use a variety of instructional strategies to m eet diverse learning needs. ● D ifferentiate instruction based on student readiness, interests, and learning profiles. ● Assess student learning regularly using form ative and sum m ative m ethods. ● Analyze data to adjust instruction and im prove student outcom es. ● Provide tim ely, specific, and actionable feedback to students. ● M aintain accurate records of student progress, attendance, and grades ● Com m unicate consistently and professionally w ith fam ilies about student progress and needs. ● Collaborate w ith colleagues to plan instruction, align curriculum , and support students.
