Position Summary
The Materials Planner is responsible for ensuring the timely availability of raw materials, components, and subassemblies to support production schedules and customer demand. This role manages material requirements planning (MRP), monitors inventory levels, and coordinates with suppliers and internal teams to prevent shortages or excess stock.
Key Responsibilities
· Run and analyze MRP to generate purchase and work order recommendations.
· Review demand forecasts and production schedules to determine material needs.
· Adjust plans based on changes in demand, lead times, or production priorities.
· Monitor inventory levels and maintain safety stock parameters.
· Identify and resolve potential shortages or excess inventory situations.
· Support cycle counting and inventory reconciliation activities.
· Communicate material requirements and delivery schedules to suppliers.
· Track open purchase orders and expedite as needed to meet production needs.
· Collaborate with Purchasing to resolve supplier delays or quality issues.
· Work closely with Production, Warehouse, and Engineering to ensure material availability.
· Support internal logistics for timely delivery of components to production areas.
· Participate in daily tier meetings to align material plans with shop floor priorities.
· Maintain accurate MRP data for materials and components.
Qualifications
· Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, related field, or equivalent experience.
· 2–4 years of materials planning, supply chain, production scheduling, or related manufacturing experience
