Job Title: Materials Planner
Job Description

The role of the Materials Planner is crucial in ensuring that components and systems are available as per order requirements. This position involves analyzing orders, generating purchase requisitions, and negotiating lead times to facilitate timely shipping and fabrication.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze orders in SAP for purchased components and systems.
  • Generate purchase requisitions in SAP and negotiate lead times to ensure availability of components and systems when required.
  • Navigate in SAP to run reports and monitor orders for timely delivery of components.
  • Monitor the status of orders and inform management and internal members of any changes or updates when scheduling component delivery dates that do not support customer timelines.
  • Collaborate with material suppliers to resolve delivery or quality issues.
  • Follow up on all open orders to ensure that the proper parts are being produced and delivered on time to the shop.
  • Assist the Buyer in the development and maintenance of stock levels for high-consumption components.
  • Anticipate and provide input on potential issues with long lead times for critical components and suppliers.
Essential Skills
  • Proficiency in SAP.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including formula usage.
  • At least 1+ years of experience in material planning.
  • Comfortable communicating with suppliers via phone to discuss lead times or order updates.
Work Environment

The position offers a hybrid work schedule, with the opportunity to work one day from home.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Columbus, IN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $32.00/hr.
